Vernette Allen, MSW
Vernette is the director of the Financial Futures Initiative at Action for Boston Community Development, Inc. She also teaches financial education for social workers at Boston University. She has her Masters in Social Work from Boston University and for 15 years she was the financial manager of grants at BU and Harvard University.
Nancy H. Gray
Nancy managed the Nancy H. Gray Foundation for Art in the Environment from 1997 - 2001 which provided seed money for environmental projects. She also started and ran Women in Outside Sales, one of the first women's networks in Boston when women were just branching out to sell products and services on the road. Nancy has master's degrees in Elementary Education from Framingham State College and Communications Management from Simmons College, as well as experience in teaching, marketing, and knowledge of personal finance she uses in retirement.
Barbara Ann Greer
Barbara Ann has been a professional educator for 10 years, currently teaching Career Awareness in the Success Academy at Haverhill High School. She has a degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. For ten years she has run an annual talent show for teens in Lynn, MA which supports non-profit organizations in the area.
Rose Mendonca
Rose has been a secondary school educator for the past 15 years. She teaches English literature and has an interest in entrepreneurship. She developed and teaches a course titled Life Choices and Possibilities where she incorporates the Start Money Smart curriculum. She is also an entrepreneur who runs Academy Tutors and www.sunfishswimwear.com.
Julie M. Povall, M.Ed Boston University
Julie Povall has a background in both communications and education. After receiving a graduate degree from Boston University in Education and Communications, Julie served as the VP and COO of a Boston based health care company for 15 years and brings a wealth of experience in marketing, business development and communications. She has also used her skills to consult with companies in the areas of marketing and public relations and has served as a consultant to public campaigns to bring awareness to major social issues.
